Cash Operations Specialist - Detroit

Department: Cash Operations Department

Location: Henry Ford Hospital, 2799 W Grand Blvd, Detroit, MI 48202

Schedule: Full Time (40 hours per week)

Shift: Days 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

• Responsible for the activities related to the processing of financial transactions and maintains integrity of cash operation procedures. Reconciles daily deposit paperwork and submits to Corporate Finance.
• Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debit
• Under general supervision, consolidate cash and prepare for bank deposit.
• Balance cash drawer by counting cash at beginning and end of work shift. Maintains end of day operations by following policies and procedures
• Distribute petty cash bags to clinics and ancillary departments.
• Greet and respond to requests in a customer focused manner.

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
• Two (2) years of experience related to the cash operations/accounting field preferred
• Inter-personal skills necessary to effectively communicate and provide customer service to people from various social-economic backgrounds.
• Basic PC knowledge, familiarity with electronic equipment and Microsoft Office programs (e.g. cash register, Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
• Must have mathematical, analytical and problem solving skills in order to handle semi-complex details and exposure to confidential information.
