Plant Controller

We are seeking a Plant Controller to support financial leadership at a high-volume automotive manufacturing facility on Detroit’s north side. This role will serve as the primary finance partner to plant operations, driving strong financial controls, accurate reporting, and data-driven decision-making in a fast-paced environment.

• Own all plant-level financial activities including month-end close, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
• Lead inventory accounting and standard costing
  , including cost roll-ups, BOMs, labor and overhead analysis, and inventory reserves
• Partner closely with plant leadership to analyze operational performance, identify cost drivers, and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure accuracy of financial statements and compliance with internal controls, GAAP, and corporate policies
• Oversee inventory counts, reconciliations, and reporting; investigate and resolve variances
• Support capital expenditure analysis, tracking, and ROI evaluation
• Act as a key liaison between plant operations and corporate finance

• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
  , with significant exposure to manufacturing environments
• Strong background in inventory accounting and standard cost accounting (required)
• Automotive industry experience strongly preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA or CMA a plus
• ERP experience required (SAP preferred)
• Proven ability to partner with operations and communicate financial insights clearly to non-finance leaders
