We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in electric motor mechanical design, specifically for compact motors and actuators used in automotive seat systems. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience designing internal motor components such as shafts, housings, bearings, and rotor support structures, and will lead mechanical development from concept through validation and production launch.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the mechanical design and development of compact electric motors and actuators used in automotive seat adjustment systems (seat slide, height adjust, lumbar support).
- Define motor mechanical architecture, including rotor/stator integration, shaft design, bearing selection, housing structure, and sealing concepts.
- Perform tolerance stack‑up analysis and air‑gap control to ensure motor efficiency and reliability.
- Conduct structural, thermal, and modal analysis to validate mechanical robustness and performance.
- Develop and maintain DVP&R plans for mechanical validation, ensuring alignment with internal and customer requirements.
- Coordinate mechanical validation testing, including durability, NVH, and environmental testing.
- Review and modify mechanical engineering drawings and CAD models.
- Support DFMEA (mechanical focus), APQP activities, and product development milestones.
- Work closely with manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and program management teams to ensure successful product industrialization.
- Support resolution of mechanical design issues, durability concerns, and NVH topics through product release.
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Mechatronics (mechanical focus).
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design of electric motors or electromechanical actuators, preferably in the automotive industry.
