A major engineering and EPC organization supporting operating nuclear power plants across North America is seeking a Supervisor, Electrical Engineering (PE) to lead electrical engineering and I&C design activities supporting plant modification projects at an operating nuclear facility
.
This role is ideal for an experienced Nuclear Electrical Engineer ready to step into a technical leadership position while remaining hands‑on with engineering work.
You will lead a team of Electrical and Instrumentation & Controls engineers and designers
, oversee engineering change packages, and ensure designs meet nuclear regulatory requirements, configuration control standards, and industry codes
.
This position supports an operating nuclear power plant in the Detroit / Toledo region and plays a critical role in maintaining and upgrading plant electrical systems.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:- Lead and supervise Electrical and I&C engineers and designers supporting plant engineering work
- Develop and review engineering change packages and nuclear plant modification designs
- Manage engineering scope, schedules, and deliverables for electrical engineering projects
- Coordinate engineering activities with plant operations, vendors, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Electrical system design for nuclear power plant distribution systems
- Short circuit, arc flash, coordination, and voltage drop studies using ETAP
- Equipment specifications for transformers, switch gear, MCCs, UPS/DC systems
- Preparation and review of electrical design documentation including: single line diagrams, schematic and wiring diagrams, raceway and cable routing drawings, grounding, and lighting plans
- Ensuring compliance with IEEE, EPRI, and nuclear industry standards
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States
- Ability to obtain additional state licenses through comity
- 8+ years of electrical engineering design experience
- Experience supporting nuclear power plants, power generation facilities, or heavy industrial plants
- Strong understanding of nuclear plant modification engineering processes
- Experience with electrical system studies and power distribution design
- ETAP electrical analysis software
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Visio)
