Position Overview - Sales Engineer - Midwest US
We are seeking a driven Sales Engineer to lead new business development for turn-key automation solutions across multiple industries. This role is ideal for a high-energy hunter who thrives on opening doors, building relationships, and closing complex automation projects. The Sales Engineer will work closely with internal engineering and project teams to deliver robotic and integrated automation solutions that solve real manufacturing challenges.

Key Responsibilities- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities for turn-key automation systems
- Sell robotic integration solutions including material handling, assembly, palletizing, and custom automation
- Develop and manage a strong pipeline with documented year-over-year sales growth
- Lead customer discovery discussions to understand technical, operational, and ROI requirements
- Collaborate with applications engineering and project teams to develop technical concepts and proposals
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract close
- Travel approximately 50% to customer sites, trade shows, and industry events
- Build long-term customer relationships across multiple manufacturing industries
- Proven track record of year-over-year sales growth in automation, robotics, or engineered systems
- Strong understanding of robot integration and turn-key automation solutions
- Demonstrated hunter mentality with success in new account development
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, operations leaders, and executive stakeholders
- Comfortable selling technically complex, high-value capital projects
- Background in automation, robotics, controls, or systems integration
- Engineering degree preferred but not required
- Experience selling across multiple industries (automotive, food & beverage, packaging, general manufacturing, etc.)
