Akkodis is seeking a qualified Electronic / Electrical Engineer for a full-time role on our dedicated team for the next several years in the Detroit Metropolitan area. As an electronics engineer for the our automotive design prototype department, you'll lead a team to translate concepts into reality in the form of functional electronic and mechatronic prototypes. From functional components like buttons, switches and knobs, to fully functional prototype electric drive trains – you will have the opportunity to see the future of a well-known domestic vehicle manufacturer firsthand and play a pivotal role in the early-stage development of the next generation of vehicle content and experiences.
Our role requires interested candidates to possess 5 years of professional experience to include a deep understanding of electronic principles, strong/proven leadership skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to manage complex projects from conception to completion.
Starting Pay Range: $95,000 to $125,000/yr (salary commensurate based on experience and education levels).

Electronic/Electrical Engineer job responsibilities include- Work cross functionally with designers, engineers and fabricators to develop functional electronic and mechatronics prototypes.
- Lead the design and development of prototype electronic circuits, systems, and components.
- Oversee the wiring, testing and debugging of complex electrical systems and subsystems supporting hands on, as needed.
- Manage project timelines and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
- Develop operating procedures and training material to ensure seamless handoffs of prototype assets.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in electronics technology and integrate new innovations into projects where appropriate.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technologists.
- Coordinate and support demonstrations of prototype systems such as senior leadership reviews and research and media events.
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience with electrical system design, integration, testing and debugging, leveraging hardware and software as appropriate.
- 5+ years of experience with PCB design (Fusion 360 or equivalent - Altium, Allegro, etc) and/or integration and testing.
- 5+ years of experience working with automotive electrical systems such as display, audio, lighting, Etc.
- 3+ years of experience leading and managing technical teams or projects.
- Experience designing wire harness assemblies (CAD) is ideal for package confirmation.
- Strong knowledge of electronic circuit design, PCB layout, and embedded systems.
- Familiar with various CAD software such as Rhino, Alias and Catia.
- Familiar with various coding languages such as Node JS, C++ or equivalent.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
