Pay Range: $55,000 – $90,000 annually (may exceed based on experience)

Work Hours: Monday–Friday, standard business hours

Job Description

This opportunity is ideal for a Civil Engineer who wants to focus on design work and grow within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare engineering analyses, designs, calculations, and technical reports for projects, reviewed by a Project Manager
• Design grading and drainage for site improvements
• Design underground utility systems including sanitary sewer, water mains, fire protection, and storm drainage
• Perform hydrology and hydraulic calculations for gravity and pressure piping systems and surface conveyances
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including landscape architects, planners, attorneys, owners, and facility managers
• Prepare project drawings, specifications, and calculations
• Assist with proposals and fee estimates for projects of limited scope and complexity
• Maintain design responsibility for assigned projects
• Provide construction support including RFI responses, site visits, submittal reviews, and design revisions
• Develop and present technical or project-specific presentations to clients and internal teams
• Mentor and support staff engineers
• Prepare plan reviews, permit applications, zoning analyses, and land use documentation
• Attend and participate in project meetings
• Stay current on applicable legal and industry regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of civil engineering experience
• Experience designing underground utilities such as sewer, water mains, roads, and streets
• Proficiency in AutoCAD

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Civil 3D
• Experience with water and sanitary design
• Experience using Water
  
  CAD or WaterGEMS
• Experience working with MDOT Local Agency Programs
• Exposure to municipal and/or private development projects
