Control Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Control Engineer to support industrial operations through PLC/DCS maintenance, automation support, and continuous improvement of electrical and control systems. This role is hands-on and includes field work, close collaboration with maintenance teams, and support of plant instrumentation and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain, troubleshoot, and program PLC systems, including Allen-Bradley Control Logix and SLC 500
- Support and optimize DCS systems (Delta
V) - Perform field work to diagnose and resolve control, electrical, and instrumentation issues
- Support maintenance and instrumentation teams with troubleshooting and system improvements
- Manage and support Burner Management Systems (BMS)
- Maintain and utilize data historians (e.g., AVEVA PI)
- Support environmental compliance systems including CEMS/COMS
- Develop and implement reliability and automation improvement strategies
- Lead or support controls-related projects, upgrades, and documentation
- Ensure control systems meet safety, operational, and regulatory requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
- 4+ years of industrial controls or automation engineering experience (chemical, coke plant, power generation, or heavy industrial environment preferred)
- Hands-on PLC experience
- Experience performing field-based troubleshooting and support
- Experience supporting maintenance teams
- Knowledge of industrial instrumentation, sensors, and control devices
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and Delta
V DCS - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an operating plant environment
