Our Client, a Automotive company, is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer II for their Detroit, MI/ Hybrid location.
Responsibilities:- Participates in PPAP processes, writing, reviewing, and approving PPAPs
- Reviewing supply constraints or quality concerns and issuing deviations if necessary
- Participate in new supplier launches to ensure parts are made to spec and delivered on time from supplier
- Keep and maintain project timelines for multiple part changes and launches
- Meetings: supplier meetings, collab with suppliers on timing, paperwork
- Following up with engineering
- Partnering with leadership on prioritization
- Strong attention to details
- Proactively looking at what needs to be done
- Sourcing additional suppliers where needed, has be and flow to each day
- Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
- May write training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities.
- May specialize in areas of quality control engineering, such as design, incoming material, process control, product evaluation, product reliability, inventory control, metrology, automated testing, software, research and development, and administrative application.
- 20-25% meetings
- 25% following up with shareholders
- Remaining is heads down focused on core work
- Quality Engineering
- Verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
- Team player and detail oriented.
- Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.
- Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
- Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and meet deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or a related field.
- 2-4 years experience preferred.
- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Team player and detail oriented.
- Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.
- PPAP Required
- Supplier quality background and a little project management will help
- Six Sigma green belt (preferred, not required)
- Data analytics is nice to have
- Any certifications are nice to have but not required
- Laid back team that works with the engineering team on varying projects, cross functional with numerous teams, helping with sign offs on quality, pushing things to completion to meet deadlines as needed. Aftermarket role.
