Position: Electrical / Mechanical Estimator - Construction Projects

Role Description

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Mechanical or Electrical /Process/Controls Estimator to join a large, multi‑phase pharmaceutical construction project in Lebanon, Indiana
. This site‑based role focuses on estimating mechanical and process systems critical to Bio Pharma manufacturing.

As part of the Cost Management team you will work closely with contractors and internal stakeholders to deliver accurate cost estimates and validate contractor pricing. The role requires routine site visits and a strong presence at the project location.

Role Accountabilities
  • Prepare and validate detailed cost estimates for mechanical, process and controls systems (HVAC, piping, clean utilities, specialty gases, etc.).
  • Engage with contractors to obtain, analyze and challenge pricing breakdowns, ensuring transparency and cost validation.
  • Routinely visit the Lebanon, IN project site to coordinate with the construction team and perform field verification of work and quantities.
  • Interpret complex technical specifications and process requirements.
  • Leverage experience in Bio Pharma or high‑tech manufacturing to identify constructability risks.
  • Maintain cost tracking and reporting using OMEGA and/or Unifier 1 in accordance with client requirements.
  • Collaborate with project management, subcontractors, design, and client teams to support budgeting, value engineering, and change management.
  • Communicate complex technical and cost information clearly to all project stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 6+ years of estimating experience, preferably in Bio Pharma, life sciences or advanced manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with GMP manufacturing requirements.
  • Proven success obtaining and validating detailed cost breakdowns from contractors/subcontractors.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; experienced in quantity take‑offs, cost reconciliations and pricing reviews.
  • Proficiency with industry estimation tools such as OMEGA and/or Unifier 1.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, strong negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to maintain a regular on‑site presence in Lebanon, IN (hybrid role).
  • Relevant professional certification preferred.
  • Local candidates preferred.
