Antea USA, Inc. (Antea®Group) is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, early career Environmental Geologist, Scientist, or Engineer in our Farmington Hills, MI office.

This position is structured for someone that can demonstrate milestone report writing in Michigan Part 201 and Part 213 regulatory programs. This safety-sensitive position reports to a project manager and will support project teams on a variety of project assignments including data management, site remediation activities, technical and safety oversight of subcontractors, permitting, sample collection, work plan development and report writing.

Experience with supporting remedial operation and maintenance (O&M) work scopes, data tracking and manual development a plus.

Additional tasks could include preparing work and health and safety plans; conducting soil and groundwater investigations and sampling; remediation system operation and maintenance; data entry, management, and analyses; and preparation of reports in a variety of formats.

This is a full-time position with 50% of regional travel anticipated. This may require working alone in remote locations and/or out-of-state work supporting other company offices. Typical travel includes staying over at site locations for several nights per week, a couple of weeks per month. Antea Group does support emerging client needs and request travel on an emergency basis. The locations may change based on client contracts and remediation site needs.

QUALIFICATIONS Education

and Training
  • BS in Environmental Sciences / Soil Science / Geology / Environmental Engineering or related science major.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Early career 2– 5 years of applicable environmental experience.
  • This position will require a 40-hour HAZWOPER OSHA certification. While current certification is desirable, it is not required to apply. HAZWOPER training will be provided upon employment if the successful candidate(s) is/are not already certified. Preference for early career professionals with HAZWOPER training.
Experience & Fundamental Skill Set
  • Demonstrated experience in milestone report writing in Michigan Part 201 and Part 213 regulatory programs.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with an innate attention to detail.
  • Strong time management and decision-making skills.
  • Able to work independently at remote locations to troubleshoot issues with sampling equipment and/or instruct others.
  • Ability to multi-task with multiple projects or assignments.
  • Interest and motivation to diversify skill set with additional training.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with working on remediation systems including troubleshooting pumps, blowers, and motors is a plus. Advanced engineering is not mandatory but supporting work plans, remote troubleshooting with technicians and data management experience is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with state and federal environmental regulatory framework.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Potential employees must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check, pre-employment drug screening (as permitted by law), and baseline physical (safety-sensitive roles). They must also have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
