Job Description
Responsibilities:
· Torque board audits
· Maintain the Torque and PCP/TEB board
· Execute the business plan for tooling capabilities -- power tool torque monitoring, calibration, and maintenance activities
· Implement Corporate Torque Strategies.
· Communicate between shifts and departments to implement Fastening Procedures, Fastening Tool and Equipment Bulletins, Fastening
Process Control Plans, Fastening Best Practices
· Troubleshoot and Resolve fastening related problems work with QE’s
· Develop and maintain Torque KPC/Standard care sheets
· Do correlation studies and submit to HQ for approval to change specs.
· Interface with all groups related to fastening issues
· Work with assigned personnel as required on current and future fastening projects
· Complete GRA’s in the time allotted in the GRA system
· Work with all departments/VAA’s/Ryder on implementing GRA’s
· Support production team during prototype, pilot & validation through acceleration to implementation.
· Utilize data from Voice of the Customer and Voice of Process for continuous improvement of fastening processes
· Communicate department quality goals, and leverage resources to solve quality problems for fastening
· Represent the Plant during Torque/Compliance Audits
· Execute safe work practices as the highest priority and achieves objectives for ergonomics, health/safety, and housekeeping
· Develop employees as required to effectively perform their job, utilizing standardize methods relating to fastening/compliance
· Help Coordinate Gage Calibration
· Cover GCA Group Leader and Quality Assurance Manager when on vacation.
· Go to required meetings
· Help Roll out BIQ/ISO requirements to the floor.
· Train Classes when needed
Qualifications Required:
· Must be able to work any shift and willing to support off-hour Production when torque issues arise.
· Must support weekend maintenance activity as requested.
· Must be willing to cover GCA group leader for vacation replacement.
· Must be able to learn the Atlas Copco programs for fastening
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
· Strong project management leadership skills must be able to work in a group or alone
Preferred:
· Knowledge of fastening controller/strategy programming and tool capability (angle monitoring, angle control, re-hit strategies)
· Knowledge of plants Ethernet and device net capabilities (IP addressing, data collection, and error proofing interfacing)
· 2 - 5 years manufacturing experience
