About the Job You’re Considering
As an ECU White Box & Stress Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in validating advanced automotive Electronic Control Units (ECUs) such as High-Performance Computers (HPC) and Zonal Controllers. This position involves deep hardware-level testing, embedded debugging, and stress analysis to ensure reliability and compliance with automotive standards. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to design, implement, and troubleshoot Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL) systems, wiring harnesses, and load boxes, while leveraging your expertise in electronic circuits, automotive communication protocols, and wireless technologies.

- Perform white‑box testing on automotive ECUs, including HPC and Zonal Computers.
- Debug embedded code and conduct register‑level diagnostics for SOCs/MCUs.
- Design and troubleshoot HIL systems using platforms like dSPACE and ETAS.
- Develop and validate wiring harnesses and load boxes for HIL setups.
- Utilize tools such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers for hardware testing.
- Execute stress tests and analyze data to establish pass/fail criteria.
- Work with automotive network protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and diagnostic tools (CANoe, VT Studio).
- Validate wireless communication technologies (NFC, UWB, Wi‑Fi) used in automotive systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET‑accredited university.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive EE hardware white‑box testing.
- Strong knowledge of electronic circuits, components, and systems.
- Ability to read and interpret circuit board schematics and semiconductor datasheets.
- Proficiency in embedded code debugging and register‑level diagnostics.
- Hands‑on experience with HIL systems (dSPACE, ETAS) and related electrical design.
- Expertise in automotive communication protocols and diagnostic tools.
- Familiarity with wireless technologies used in automotive applications.
- Experience in statistical analysis for stress testing and reliability validation.
