We are expanding our Transportation Team in Michigan and are seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer & Office Lead to take charge of roadway and utility design projects in a fully 3D digital environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the preparation of transportation design plans and 3D models for local agency and municipal utility projects.
- Perform and review design calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare design packages for milestone client submittals, including estimates, special provisions, and RID packages.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing team.
- Support MDOT projects as needed, applying similar expertise and leadership.
- Oversee and manage a team of seven designers
, ensuring successful project delivery and professional development.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- 12–15 years of experience working with MDOT transportation and local agency.
- Michigan PE with the ability to become registered in other states.
- Knowledge of Open Roads ORD design software is required;
AutoCAD/Civil3D is a plus. - Experience working as a PM.
