Our team supports the design and build of innovative charging systems combining hardware and software reliability to meet customer requirements.
We are seeking an experienced Electrical/Controls Engineer with hands‑on expertise in Electric Vehicle charging systems and power electronics systems. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of DC Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) architecture, power electronics, embedded and industrial control systems, and industry compliance standards (UL, NEC, IEC, ISO etc.).
Key Responsibilities- Support the design and development of electrical systems for DC EVSE solutions.
- Controls development for DC EVSE solutions, including but not limited to integration of various power conversion modules.
- Collaborate with customers to understand requirements and translate them into actionable designs.
- Collaborate with software and mechanical teams to integrate charging systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety, grid interconnection, and charging protocols.
- Conduct testing, debugging, and validation of charging systems in lab and field environments.
- Support certification processes (UL, CE, FCC) and work with manufacturing partners for design transfer.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of reliability, cost efficiency, and scalability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in DC Electric Vehicle charging systems and/or power electronics systems.
- Strong background in power conversion systems, AC/DC and DC/DC.
- Proficiency in programming controls-related devices (PLC) specifically using the CODESYS development environment.
- Familiarity with communication protocols: CANbus, Modbus
TCP/RTU, ISO 15118, DIN
70121 and OCPP 1.6J/2.0.1. - Experience with computer-aided design and drafting software.
- Familiarity with UL 2202, UL 2231, NEC Article 625, and other EV charging standards.
- Excellent problem‑solving and documentation skills; ability to work cross‑functionally.
- Prior experience at EV charger OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers.
- Experience in grid‑tied systems, renewable integration, or V2G/V2X technologies.
- Experience with controls development in C/C++, RTOS, or microcontroller environments.
- Experience with tools such as Altium, MATLAB/Simulink, or PSpice.
- Experience with contract manufacturers or PCB suppliers for prototype‑to‑production transitions.
