Summary: We are currently seeking dedicated Occupational Therapists (OT) to join our team in a local traveling role. Starting salary of $60,000, commensurate with experience.
- Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services as outlined in students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or Section 504 plans.
- Conduct assessments of motor, visual-motor, and sensory-motor skills for students referred for special education evaluation to help determine eligibility for services.
- Participate in the IEP/Section 504 process, providing input on assessment measures, intervention strategies, and student progress.
- Collaborate as a member of the special education team to deliver comprehensive services to students with disabilities.
- Consult with teachers, school administrators, parents, and relevant stakeholders regarding students’ physical, motor, and sensory development.
- Work closely with teachers to integrate occupational therapy goals into the classroom environment and support classroom objectives through therapy programs.
- Provide training to relevant individuals on effective methods to assist students in mainstream settings.
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and adjust occupational therapy interventions in collaboration with school staff and parents.
- Utilize treatment strategies involving physical, sensory, manual, creative, and recreational activities to support student development.
- Design adaptive equipment and devices for individual students and classroom use.
- Maintain an accurate record of student caseload requirements and update the Special Education Administrator on any changes.
- Maintain a detailed schedule and service logs, and track student progress toward therapy goals.
- Demonstrate professionalism in handling confidential matters and materials.
- Pursue ongoing professional development to stay informed about current practices and research in occupational therapy.
- Participate in school initiatives such as screening programs to support student development.
- Attend parent-teacher meetings as needed to discuss student progress and therapy plans.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the building principal.
