Faculty Search For Tenure/Tenure Track Opportunity

We are seeking candidates with demonstrable and strong research experience in an Open Rank Faculty Position, Ben L. Silberstein Institute for Brain Health with a joint appointment in an academic department based on specialty.

The Ben L. Silberstein Institute for Brain Health at Wayne State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure/tenure-track Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor. We seek exceptional scientists whose work advances understanding of brain health and relevant neuro-clinical conditions across the lifespan. The successful candidate is expected to complement existing research strengths, which include neurodegeneration, neurodevelopment, post‑traumatic stress disorder and trauma neurobiology, obsessive compulsive disorder, mood and anxiety disorders, neuropharmacology, aging, and alcohol/drug abuse, though applicants from any relevant area of neuroscience or related field are encouraged to apply.

Faculty will be jointly appointed in the Institute for Brain Health and an academic department across the university that best matches the candidate's background and interest. Depending on the specific joint appointment, the faculty may have a teaching commitment in their home department. This is a broad, open‑rank search, and we welcome candidates pursuing innovative and collaborative research in any domain of brain health.

Minimum Qualifications

A MD and/or Ph.D. degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven track record of excellence in scholarship.
  • At least 1-2 years of postdoctoral or equivalent experience.
  • Teaching experience, especially with a diverse range of students.
  • Supervising and mentoring experience.
  • Grant writing experience.
