Essential functions (job duties):The Department of Chemistry at Wayne State University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of Teaching, with an anticipated start date of August 18, 2026.
Primary Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate chemistry courses, including general and organic chemistry (lecture and laboratory).
Contribute to curriculum development and continuous course improvement.
Advise undergraduate chemistry majors as needed.
Support student learning through participation in the Chemistry Learning Center.
Participate in departmental service, including committee work and collaboration with teaching and learning partners.
Assist with TA training, evaluation and instructional support as needed.
Serve as a liaison to campus and external partners (e.g., Office for Teaching and Learning, libraries, schools, or interdisciplinary programs) based on departmental needs.
Qualifications:Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field.
Demonstrated commitment to effective undergraduate teaching and student success.
