Overview

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a BC/BE physiatrist for an outpatient position with unlimited potential for growth. The ideal candidate would have experience and be proficient in prosthetic, orthotics, assistive device prescription as well as evaluation of musculoskeletal conditions and gait analysis. Overview

Outpatient services are provided at our west campus Martha Morehouse Outpatient Care Center. Our Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department is ranked #1 in Columbus and #37 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. Newsweek has ranked Ohio State Dodd Rehabilitation Hospital as #1 in Ohio. Our residency program is ranked 24th through Doximity Residency Navigator.

Duties and Responsibilities

Faculty responsibilities are aligned with patient care, education, and clinical research. The physiatrist will be the Medical Director of the outpatient limb loss service line, collaborating with the outpatient limb loss therapy team and the Military Medicine plastic surgery team. The position offers opportunities to contribute to training, research, and other scholarly activities. Other duties include representing the program or Department by participating in committees, conferences, and professional meetings and community speaking engagements.

The physiatrist is expected to practice within the Medical Center standards of practice, and adhere to key results areas of the Medical Center.

Requirements
  • MD or DO
  • Successful completion of an accredited PM&R Residency Program
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in PM&R
  • Eligible for an Ohio Medical License

Faculty Defined

Clinical faculty (regardless of rank) include titles of assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical, and professor-clinical. They will have earned an MD, DO, PhD or other terminal degree in the field. Clinical faculty are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of three to five years. They may be reappointed. Their primary focus is the delivery of exemplary clinical care, and may include teaching and/or research.

Tenure-Track faculty (regardless of rank) include assistant professor, associate professor, or professor who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. They will have earned a PhD, MD, or DO. Their primary focus centers on research, service, and teaching. Tenure-track faculty with MD/DO may also be involved in clinical care.

Research Faculty (regardless of rank) include research assistant professor, research associate professor, or research professor. They will have earned a PhD or other terminal degree. Their principal focus is research and tenure status varies by appointment.
