Henry Ford Medical Groups Department of Neurology is seeking a board eligible/certified neurologist with fellowship training in behavioral or geriatric neurology to join our multi-disciplinary team as part of the Henry Ford Center for Cognitive Health. The Behavioral Neurology team includes a behavioral neurologist, two geriatric psychiatrists, an advanced practice provider, two social workers, infusion nurse coordinator plus solid nursing and administrative support.
Our Behavioral Neurology Division seeks a specialist passionate about treating patients in various stages and etiologies of cognitive decline. The Memory Clinic team provides comprehensive evaluation and care for patients with memory concerns. Our Center for Cognitive Health is focused on early diagnosis and intervention for Alzheimers disease, providing the latest diagnostic modalities and treatment of memory loss and dementia, including PET imaging, cerebrospinal fluid analysis, genetic testing, EEGs, neuropsychology.
Community outreach and support to underserved populations within our service area will be a focus of the Center.
Our program has 30 years of experience in the medical management of Alzheimers and dementia, with a UCNS-approved behavioral neurology fellowship training program. Our busy clinical practice treats over 800 individual memory patients per year and includes the use of the latest tools to diagnose the stages of memory loss and dementia.
With nearly 60 neurologists total, Henry Fords Neuroscience Institute is one of the largest and most active in the Midwest, offering the most advanced neurologic medical and surgical therapies across all the major subspecialties, along with a robust residency and an array of fellowship offerings. As an academic program, we are active in clinical trials and neurology research.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:
- Participate in robust clinical trials unit to include government and industry-funded trials in Alzheimers disease and related neurodegenerative disorders.
- Provide direct patient care and educational endeavors including a teaching role with medical students, and Neurology and Psychiatry residents as well as Neuropsychology and Behavioral Neurology fellows.
- Conduct population-based epidemiological studies and clinical trials in Behavioral Neurology.
- Collaborate with the NIH-Funded Henry Ford Precision Medicine Initiative Cohort Program, which will collect genetic information and biological samples from 180,000 patients in the Henry Ford Health System, and over 1 million patients nationally.
- Work with our existing 10-person interdisciplinary Memory Clinic team at our Center for Cognitive Health, focusing on early diagnosis and intervention for Alzheimers Disease.
- Develop and test complimentary therapeutics in collaboration with the Henry Ford Center for Integrative Medicine and continue ongoing community outreach programs with the Greater Michigan Alzheimers Association.
- Collaborate with our Department of Population Health, our basic science laboratories, and the Henry Ford Innovation Institute, which focuses on clinical translational research from bench to bedside.
- A tenure-track academic appointment for those who qualify, through Michigan State University - College of Human Medicine and Wayne State School of Medicine.

- Must have completed or currently completing an ACGME/AOA approved Behavioral or Geriatric Neurology fellowship program.
