The Division of Trauma & Acute Care Surgery at Henry Ford Health is expanding to meet the needs of a growing clinical practice centered at a regional, academic level I trauma center in downtown Detroit, Michigan. We are seeking candidates board-certified or eligible in general surgery and critical care to join our diverse and vibrant team of acute care surgeons and intensivists.
At the downtown campus, we are a qua ternary center for the system, which includes 13 hospitals and 550 ambulatory sites through southeast and south-central Michigan. Our practice includes elective general surgery, emergency general surgery, trauma, surgical critical care, and care provided for a 38-bed surgical ICU. We also provide 24-hour coverage for the SICU as well as in-house back up.
Our team includes residents (7 finishing chiefs per year – ACGME accredited general surgical residency program), fellows (SICU) and a strong group of advanced practice providers. Medical students, primarily from Detroit's own Wayne State University School of Medicine, are part of the team; faculty appointments are through Wayne State University's School of Medicine and Michigan State University's College of Human Medicine.
Teaching and mentorship opportunities: We offer opportunities to train and mentor medical students, residents and fellows.
