Commercial HVAC & Plumbing Project Manager

Parker-Arntz Plumbing & Heating, a premier full-service Plumbing & Mechanical Contractor, is seeking a full time Commercial HVAC & Plumbing Project Manager to oversee projects ranging from $250K to $5M throughout Michigan.

Position Location: Detroit, MI

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all tasks and milestones.
  • Coordinate with field team members, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to ensure accurate project planning and execution.
  • Manage project budgets, including tracking expenses and ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
  • Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment necessary for project completion.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying any potential issues or delays and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Skills and

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in project management in the plumbing & HVAC field.
  • Strong knowledge of project scheduling techniques and tools.
  • Possess deep understanding of projects for efficient material ordering, subcontracting, billing, and management of RFI’s, change orders, and submittals.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Leads efforts to promote and uphold workplace safety standards.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
