Detroit, MI 48226, USA
Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG), founded by celebrated restaurateur Danny Meyer, is bringing its award-winning approach to hospitality and people-first culture to Downtown Detroit in early 2026.
Guided by Enlightened Hospitality, USHG’s philosophy puts employees first, creating an environment where talent thrives, guests feel cared for, and excellence is a daily standard.
Located at Hudson’s Detroit on Woodward Avenue, our team will be at the heart of the city’s Central Business District, surrounded by world-class dining, shopping, public spaces, art, and culture - all steps away from major sports venues and the Detroit Riverfront.
This is a chance to be part of something truly special:a dynamic destination that combines city culture, community, and experiences. Join us as we bring USHG’s signature hospitality to Detroit, and help shape the future of the city’s vibrant dining scene.
Who you are:
The Brand and Community Manager helps build meaningful local connections from the ground up. This role serves as USHG's day-to-day connector - building relationships, shaping partnerships, and programming experiences that reflect both our behaviors and Detroit's creative cultural landscape. The Brand and Community Manager will collaborate closely with teams in Detroit and New York and thrive in bringing people together across food, music, and community.
What you’ll do:
- Cultivate a culture of enlightened hospitality for all stakeholders that supports our business objectives and growth
- Serve as USHG's on-the-ground brand ambassador in Detroit, building authentic relationships and ensuring our values and hospitality show up consistently across the city
- Act as a connector between Detroit and USHG leadership, sharing local insight to inform strategy, decision-making, and long-term growth
- Shape and execute Detroit's content and storytelling strategy across social, email, and on-site touchpoints in partnership with USHG brand, design, and marketing teams
- Build and manage partnerships with local creatives, artists, businesses, and cultural organizations to support content, programming, and community engagement
- Conceive and deliver guest-facing programming and events that feel welcoming, culturally relevant, and rooted in Detroit
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support openings, events, and local initiatives, managing projects end-to-end with attention to detail, timelines, and budget
What we need from you:
- Deep knowledge of Detroit's cultural landscape, including neighborhoods, creatives, restaurants, artists, and community leaders
- Strong relationship-building skills with a passion for connecting people across food, culture, and community
- Genuine interest in hospitality and guest experience, with enthusiasm for introducing USHG to Detroit in a thoughtful, locally rooted way
- Clear, warm communication abilities with experience representing a brand through writing, conversation, and community engagement
- Hands-on experience with social media, partnerships, or community-driven storytelling
- Organized, creative, and adaptable, ability to manage multiple projects and flexible schedules while keeping teams aligned
