Job Purpose

Own the strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management for assigned category (Commodities), ensuring cost competitiveness, quality, and supply continuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop category strategy based on market trends and business needs
• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers
• Manage supplier performance and risk
• Collaborate with branches and buyers to align category strategy with operational needs
• Conduct spend analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Lead cross-functional sourcing initiatives
• Maintain category documentation and supplier scorecards

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Chemistry, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in procurement or category management
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills
• Knowledge of category-specific market dynamics
• Experience with procurement systems and data analysis

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or MBA
• Experience in chemicals or industrial commodities
• Certifications such as CPSM or Six Sigma

• Category cost savings and value creation
• Supplier performance and compliance
• Contract coverage and risk mitigation
• Category strategy execution rate

Decision Rights

• Recommend supplier selection and contract terms
• Define category strategy and sourcing plans
• Approve category-specific procurement decisions within budget
• Regional Buyers and Branch Managers
• Admin Manager and Data Analyst
• Finance and Operations Teams
• Suppliers and External Partners
• Office-based with occasional travel to supplier sites and branches. Collaborative and cross-functional work setting.
