As we grow our presence in Detroit and beyond, we’re seeking a visionary VP of Sales and Business Development to lead and scale our sales organization during this exciting period of integration and rapid market growth.
Position Summary
The Vice President of Sales and Business Development will drive the creation and execution of Alpine Events’ overall sales strategy across all markets, with a strong focus on expansion and unifying legacy sales teams into one high-performing, results-oriented unit. This executive will oversee all sales operations, establish scalable structures, and be instrumental in forming partnerships that generate long-term business growth.
This role reports directly to the CEO and sits on the company’s leadership team, playing a key role in shaping the company’s long-term strategic vision.
Key Responsibilities- Sales Leadership & Strategy:
Design and implement a unified sales strategy that supports the company’s multi-market growth goals. - Sales Process Integration:
Evaluate and merge existing sales processes from legacy companies into a consistent, high-performance sales model. - Performance Management:
Define performance KPIs, lead pipeline development, and ensure consistent achievement of sales and revenue targets.
- Recruit, train, and mentor a high-caliber sales team with a focus on Detroit and the broader Michigan market.
- Create clear growth pathways, performance reviews, and training initiatives to develop sales leaders from within.
- Promote a culture of performance, collaboration, and customer-first thinking.
- Design competitive, motivating compensation structures that reward sales performance and align with company objectives.
- Continually evaluate and adjust incentive programs to reflect evolving business needs and market conditions.
- Lead efforts to establish long-term partnerships with key accounts, venues, planners, and corporate clients.
- Identify new markets, industries, and client segments for potential expansion and lead entry into those areas.
- Represent Alpine Events at industry functions, trade shows, and networking events in the Detroit area and beyond.
- Partner closely with Operations, Marketing, and Finance to ensure sales efforts are aligned with company capacity and objectives.
- Deliver accurate sales forecasts, market intelligence, and pipeline insights to inform executive decisions.
- 10+ years of progressive sales leadership, preferably within the event rental, hospitality, or B2B services industries.
- Demonstrated success building and scaling sales teams and delivering double-digit revenue growth.
- Experience leading teams through mergers, integrations, or business transformations.
- Strong background in sales strategy, operations, CRM systems, and performance analysis.
- Inspirational leader with excellent communication and team-building capabilities.
- Hands-on approach with a deep understanding of client acquisition, relationship building, and solution selling.
