About the Organization

Michigan Men’s Health Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving men’s health outcomes through education, access to screenings, and community-based programs. Our work supports underserved populations across Michigan through free screening events, outreach, and direct assistance programs.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented part-time Administrative Project Assistant to support daily operations, communications, event coordination, and administrative projects. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who enjoys varied responsibilities, works well in a collaborative nonprofit environment, and is comfortable supporting both behind-the-scenes operations and public-facing events.

This is an hourly, non-exempt position eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal and Michigan wage and hour laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage phone, email, and social media inquiries for the Foundation
  • Create and share informational materials with sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and partners
  • Support event planning and logistics including transport, setup, breakdown, and on-site coordination, including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Manage Blue Fund financial assistance applications and coordinate monthly reviews with the Executive Director
  • Communicate application decisions to Blue Fund applicants
  • Create marketing and brand awareness through social media content, event listings, and newsletters
  • Coordinate meeting logistics, distribute agendas, and serve as meeting scribe
  • Perform CRM data entry and data quality review
  • Staff informational tables and outreach events for community partners, including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Complete additional administrative and project-based tasks as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience supporting events or administrative projects preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital communication tools
  • Familiarity with social media platforms for professional or nonprofit use
  • Ability to adapt, problem solve, and manage shifting priorities
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing 40 pounds or more
  • Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods during events
Work Schedule and Compensation
  • Hourly Rate: $20 per hour
  • Additional hours may be required during key event periods and high-volume operational needs
  • Hybrid work structure with the ability to work remotely for administrative tasks
  • In-person presence required for onboarding and training, scheduled meetings when necessary, and all assigned events and outreach activities. Locations for training and key Foundation events:
    Rochester, MI, Royal Oak, MI, Birmingham, MI, Detroit, MI

This part-time position is not eligible for employer-sponsored benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, or paid time off. Required payroll taxes and statutory benefits will be provided in accordance with applicable law.

Employment Status

Employment with Michigan Men’s Health Foundation is at-will. Either the employee or the Foundation may terminate employment at any time, with or without cause or notice, consistent with applicable law.
