Powerwell is a leading recruitment firm helping our clients discover top talent. We are recruiting for a Temporary Facilities Specialist. This position will last approximately four to eight weeks. Candidates must be able to work onsite in Detroit, MI as well as possibly Ann Arbor, MI for one week.

They are looking for a Temporary Facilities Specialist for their Detroit office. Our client’s main office is in downtown Detroit, with additional offices in Bloomfield Hills, Ann Arbor, Lansing, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Washington D.C., and Chicago, IL.

Job Summary:

In concert with and under the supervision of both the Director and Manager of Operations, ensure all aspects of facilities’ operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, performs minor repairs, installations, and other maintenance needs to multiple office facilities.
  • Will obtain work assignments from supervisor, will contact the person requesting repairs, and will determine the type of repair required.
  • Among various items, will repair wall coverings, panels, and baseboards; office fixtures; and desk hardware.
  • Will install small appliances, such as ice makers and dishwashers.
  • Will paint where needed; move office furniture and boxes; organize storage rooms; and perform light replacements.
  • Will install keyboard trays; hang bulletin boards, coat hooks, pictures, and shelves; and will change light bulbs.
  • Will keep an inventory of replacement bulbs and other materials and will prepare requisitions for supervisor's signature as replacement needs dictate.
  • Will use own tools to perform repairs, installations, and other maintenance needs. The firm will supply other miscellaneous supplies and tools.
  • Will maintain positive contact with all attorneys, staff, and visitors and observes confidentiality in all client and firm matters.
  • Will perform other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent and previous experience in a similar role.
  • Mechanical aptitude acquired from vocational school, outside activities, or job experience.
  • Low voltage wiring experience, a plus.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
  • Ability to follow and convey instructions effectively with a high degree of courtesy and tact including ability to independently initiate follow-up.
  • Must have own tools (firm will supplement).
  • Must be able to drive to other firm facilities when needed.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Satisfactory work record and attendance.

Physical & Mental Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit at a desk, work on a computer, and use a telephone; as well as speak and listen.
  • Frequently required to demonstrate routine manual dexterity skills.
  • Required to move to/from various spaces, kneel, grasp, push, pull, bend over, reach overhead, and/or lift, carry or move items such as files, binders, and furniture. Must be able to lift at least 50 to 100 pounds.
  • See and read a computer screen and printed matter with or without visual aids. Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision and depth perception.
  • Learn and comprehend instructions.

Pay Range & Compensation Package:

The anticipated annual pay range for this role is $18.00 hourly (non-exempt). The actual offered payrate will be determined based on various factors, including qualifications, experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and internal equity considerations.
