Cannabis Controller

Salary: $100K-$150K (Based on experience)

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 8am-5pm (Onsite)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team and oversee the accounting and financial operations of our cannabis company. This is a hands‑on role responsible for all financial reporting, daily bookkeeping, and accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have prior experience at a cannabis company with $75M+ in annual revenue, preferably in a manufacturing environment, and will bring a strong combination of technical skill, organization, and leadership.

• Manage daily bookkeeping and accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
• Oversee all financial reporting and ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations
• Supervise and mentor 1–2 accounting staff
• Ensure timely and accurate month‑end and year‑end close processes
• Maintain and optimize Quick Books accounting system
• Monitor cash flow, budgets, and forecasts, providing insights for business decision‑making
• Ensure compliance with cannabis‑specific financial regulations and reporting requirements
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets
• Maintain organized and thorough financial records

• 5+ years of accounting/finance experience, with prior experience in the cannabis industry strongly preferred
• Experience with Quick Books and other accounting software
• Proven ability to manage a small accounting team (1–2 direct reports)
• Strong understanding of general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• CPA or equivalent certification preferred
