Staff Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with our client in Detroit, MI to hire a Staff Accountant for an on-site contract opportunity for a special project that is expected to last 8 months or longer
. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys contributing to efficient financial operations.

• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
• Perform variance analysis and support financial reporting
• Process journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
• Support audits by preparing documentation and schedules
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting discrepancies

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2–4 years of general accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Experience with ERP/accounting software (SAP, Oracle, or similar preferred)
• Advanced Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Competitive hourly pay ($29–$37/hr. based on experience)
