JOB SUMMARY:
The senior accountant position is responsible for providing advanced accounting support to the organization, including but not limited to preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, month-end and year-end closing activities, and adherence to internal controls. This position manages complex and confidential company financial records and operates with significant discretion and autonomy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in the monthly close process; accurate and timely preparation and posting of journal entries.
- Reconcile costs incurred for publicly ticketed and private events. Compile, review, record and prepare billing requests.
- Analyze and reconcile various general ledger accounts to maintain accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Preparation of schedules to support budget and month-end processes
- Provide clean and timely year-end files to the tax department
- Execute in accordance with corporate accounting policies and procedures and recommend new ideas or changes to current policies and procedures, as needed.
- Manage and lead special projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Minimum of five (5) years related experience (equivalent experience or training that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to do the job).
- Possess the highest integrity and ethical standards including the handling of confidential and sensitive information
- Evidence of highly developed verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical ability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously with the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with all levels of colleagues
- Working knowledge of accounting principles to ensure financial results are in conformity with Generally Acceptable Account Principles.
- Moderate Excel skills, which may include the creation of macros, pivot tables, etc.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Experience with Oracle cloud.
- Experience with Workday HRIS.
- Sports and Entertainment experience
