Overview
We have partnered with an excellent locally based and family operated accounting and advisory firm in the Detroit, Renaissance area, MI. This is a firm that truly values work life balance, puts employees first, and doesn't micro manage hours like some firms. The partners are looking for a Tax Senior Associate, someone able to handle a variety of tax prep and review for a variety of local area businesses, LLCs, Partnerships, Corporations, and other business and pass through entities.
Responsibilities- Prep and review tax returns for various entities, businesses, high net worth individuals, including pass through entities, C-Corps, S-Corps, and Partnerships.
- Enter information into a variety of tax prep software programs such as CCH, Pro System, and Ultra Tax.
- Ensure all business tax returns are filed in accordance with Firm guidelines and federal regulations are met.
- Work with the IRS as needed for resolutions.
- Collaborate with partners on tax work and assist junior staff on their prep and review.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, statistics, or related field (business administration or related field acceptable depending on overall experience).
- CPA eligible, CPA license currently, or in progress; EA is a plus or working to obtain the EA.
- 3–5 years of solid tax prep and review experience in a local accounting environment (Big Firm, regional firm, or equivalent) handling daily tax prep and review for multiple entities and high-profile clients.
- Very proficient with tax software programs (Thomson Reuters, Pro System, CCH, and other tax software).
- Strong understanding of tax laws and ability to work in a fast-paced tax environment to complete work efficiently.
- Full-time, Monday through Friday (hours capped in busy season).
