Job Description
This position currently offers an initial signing bonus of $1,250 and a retention bonus of $1,250 upon completion of one year of satisfactory service. The retention bonus must be paid back if the employee leaves the position before completing one year. This benefit is limited to new State of Michigan employees only; current employees are ineligible.
BenefitsThe initial signing bonus and annual retention bonus provide a financial incentive for new employees to remain in the position. Both bonuses are contingent on remaining in the role for at least one year.
Position DescriptionThe iGaming Auditor (Auditor P11) plans and performs financial and compliance audits of internet gaming, internet sports betting, and fantasy contests conducted under the Lawful Internet Gaming Act of 2019, the Lawful Sports Betting Act of 2019, the Fantasy Contests Consumer Protection Act of 2019, administrative rules, and operator and platform provider internal controls.
RequiredEducation and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree with at least 24 semester (36 term) credits in accounting.
Experience:
- Auditor 9 – No specific type or amount of experience required.
- Auditor 10 – One year of professional experience auditing accounting, financial, and operations records equivalent to an Auditor 9.
- Auditor P11 – Two years of professional experience auditing accounting, financial, and operations records equivalent to an Auditor, including one year equivalent to an Auditor 10.
Education and Experience
- Possession of a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification may be substituted for six months of experience at the P11 level.
- Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification may be substituted for one year of Auditor experience.

Background and Screening: The Board conducts a personal reference screening, criminal background check, drug testing, and federal and state tax transcript, including fingerprinting candidates prior to a conditional offer of employment. A reference check from your current or most recent supervisor is required. Civil Service Rule 2-7 requires that all persons who are not currently state employees submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test within 24 hours of a conditional offer;
failure to complete the test may result in rescission of the offer.
