General Ledger Accountant

General Ledger Accountant (On-Site | Newly Created Role)

Venteon is partnered with a well-established services organization to hire a General Ledger Accountant for a newly created position on their accounting team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning the GL, cleaning up reconciliations, and supporting close/reporting, while also getting exposure to forecasting and operational reporting.

• Prepare and post recurring/non-recurring journal entries and support a smooth month-end close
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with internal financial statements, supporting schedules, and close work papers
• Contribute to management and lender-style reporting packages as needed
• Support year-end audit prep and respond to auditor requests
• Help maintain accuracy of the general ledger, including proper expense and capex classification
• Provide backup support across AP/AR/payroll processes when needed
• Partner with the FP&A/finance team to assist with forecasts and performance reporting
• Update and maintain forecast tools on a monthly cadence once built out
• Use Excel to streamline reporting (pivot tables, lookups, formulas) and support process improvements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of general ledger/accounting experience with strong reconciliation skills
• Strong understanding of financial statements and core accounting principles
• Advanced Excel skills (pivots, lookups, formulas, basic modeling)
• ERP exposure is a plus
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working fully on-site in a deadline-driven environment
