Sr. Accountant

Insight Global is looking for an Accountant. The Accountant is responsible for performing professional accounting tasks to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and reports. This role involves preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, analyzing financial data, and assisting with audits and budget preparation. The Accountant will work closely with other departments to support financial operations and compliance with county policies and regulations.

• Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports.

• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.

• Maintain and update financial databases and systems.

• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.

• Monitor and report on revenue and expenditure trends.

• Prepare journal entries and ensure proper documentation.

• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and county policies.

• Collaborate with other departments to resolve financial discrepancies.

• Assist in the development and implementation of accounting procedures and controls.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 8+ years of experience in governmental accounting

• Experience working with a budget

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and governmental accounting standards

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Masters Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 10+ years of experience in governmental accounting
