Accounts Payable Specialist

$50,000.00/yr - $60,000.00/yr

We’re looking for a great accountant or clerk to help with our accounts payable! We own and operate several thousand apartments in Detroit, and need accounting help! The successful candidate needn't have real estate expertise, just an interest in the field (though real estate experience is certainly a plus!). We're a small and growing team, and this is an important role for us, with plenty of room for growth.

• Review and record invoices from vendors to ensure accuracy in billing
• Process expense reports from employees Identify discrepancies and elevate in appropriate manner
• Have knowledge of approved vendors and policies to avoid paying unauthorized invoices and expenses
• Maintain 1099s and generate report at year end

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, or comparable work experience
• Strong understanding of General Ledger system and Accounts Payable processing
• Strong organizational, analytical and recording skills
• Detail oriented
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
