Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant | Desoto, TX
Join Next Care as an energetic and compassionate Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in our Desoto, Texas urgent care clinic. This role provides full‑scope urgent care and occupational medicine services in a fast‑paced, modern environment.
ScheduleFull‑time, 3×12‑hour shifts per week, rotating weekdays and weekends. The schedule follows an A/B rotating pattern that balances weekends, weekdays, and overall shift distribution.
Responsibilities- Perform patient evaluation and management consistent with urgent care best practices
- Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care aligned with Next Care values
- Clearly communicate diagnoses and treatment plans
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation in the EHR
- Appropriately code and bill for services rendered
- Maintain clinical productivity aligned with role expectations
- Follow up on patient care as needed
- Uphold legal, ethical, and compliance standards
You will contribute to improved access, excellent patient outcomes, and continued community trust as a key clinical provider in the DeSoto region.
Required Qualifications- Active, unrestricted Texas license (PA or NP)
- Active DEA license
- NCCPA certification (PA) or ANCC/AANP (NP)
- NP board specialty supporting all‑age care (FNP preferred)
- Bachelor’s in PA Studies or Master’s in Nursing (NP)
- Active BLS Certification
- Proficient in EHR systems
- Comfortable treating all age groups
- Ability to work rotating weekends and occasional holidays
- DOT certification required or ability to obtain (covered by Next Care)
- Urgent care, ER fast‑track, or walk‑in clinic experience
- Laceration repair & common procedures
- Initial X‑ray interpretation
- Master’s in PA studies (for PAs)
