Role DescriptionThis is a full‑time, on‑site role located in DeSoto, TX, for a Facilities Superintendent. The Facilities Superintendent will oversee the maintenance, operation, and safety of city buildings and facilities. Responsibilities include managing facility repairs and renovations, supervising maintenance staff, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, coordinating vendor services, and developing maintenance schedules and budgets. The role requires collaborating with various departments to ensure facilities meet city and community standards.
Qualifications- Proficiency in facility operations, maintenance, and repair, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general construction
- Experience in team leadership, staff supervision, and vendor management
- Knowledge of safety regulations, inspections, and facility compliance standards
- Strong project management, organizational, and budgeting skills
- Problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail and effective time management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for coordination across departments
- Familiarity with relevant municipal or public sector practices is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications or technical training in facility management or related fields are advantageous
