PRN Intake Counselor Opportunity

Shifts needed:
Nights (6:45pm - 7:15am).

Hickory Trail Hospital, an 86‑bed behavioral health facility located south of Dallas, provides inpatient and day treatment to children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults. The facility operates 24/7 and supports the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention.

We are seeking an experienced Intake Counselor to join our Admissions/Intake team.

• Ensures all intake calls are answered promptly and courteously.
• Provides crisis intervention, telephonic triage, and clinical assessments.
• Obtains admission precertification.
• Conducts onsite assessments.
• Develops and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
• Works as a team player to ensure service excellence to patients, families, and other employees.

• Education:
  
  Master’s Degree in Social Work or a clinically related mental health field.
• Experience:
  
  2‑3 years in substance or psychiatric health care facility with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; strong clinical assessment skills.
• License:
  State licensure – LPC, LPC‑I, LCDC, LMFT, LMSW, LCSW or RN.
• Additional Requirements:
  
  CPR and CPI training completed prior to beginning work; must pass a competency exam for the area upon hire.
