General Job Responsibilities
Community Bank Loan Assistants have direct interface with current and potential Bank customers and work closely with the Loan Officers and other Bank employees. They provide services which include completion of loan request data sheets, closing loans with customers and disbursing funds, explaining bank products and services, solving customer problems, and answering other customer requests. The Loan Assistant must possess a thorough knowledge of all bank products and services, fully understand and adhere to all federal and state laws and the policies of the Bank, and be able to communicate effectively with the customer, at times during a difficult situation.
A pleasant customer service attitude is essential as well as willingness to be a team player. Loan Assistants report to the designated Branch Officer.
Graduation from high school or equivalent GED required, some college or post graduate technical training preferred.
ExperienceA minimum of two year’s work experience in an area requiring customer service skills OR a minimum of one year’s work experience in the banking industry is preferred. Education may be substituted for experience.
