Overview
Under the direction and supervision of the Network Director, the Associate Director is responsible for providing leadership and oversight for residential homes and program services. The associate director ensures the health and safety for the people supported while promoting person-centered practices that maximize independence, choice, and meaningful outcomes.
Salary: $63,000-$73,000
Hours: M-F 8:30 am – 5:00 pm with 2 late nights per week
Location: Des Plaines
Reports To: Network Director

Essential Functions- The Residential Associate Director is responsible for providing leadership for the care, treatment, and safety of the people living in the homes of their network.
- The Associate must cultivate highly developed relationships within their team and across the agency.
- Alongside the Residential Director, the Associate serves as supervisory support for the leadership team and the direct support staff of the network. This position ensures that all staff assigned to homes receive training, coaching and mentoring necessary to assist the program participants in reaching their personal goals.
- In order to maximize the efficient operation of all homes, the Associate ensures that all sites function and grow as a team.
- The Associate fosters an environment of open and honest communication and encourages team members to collaborate, initiate action, make suggestions, and take an active role in planning for the homes.
- A typical workday varies according to the priorities and responsibilities presented, which could include training of various team members, visiting homes in the network for staff and program participant check-ins, completing documentation to ensure compliance, conducting team meetings, interviewing potential team members, etc.
- The Associate must be available to provide support as concerns occur, including weekends on a periodic basis. When unavailable, ensure that an effective on call system is in place to resolve concerns.

- Able to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures necessary for providing quality care
- Able to make independent decisions and problem solve
- Able to deal tactfully with staff, program participants, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public

- Strongly self-motivated
- Be able to lift over 40 pounds from floor to waist unassisted
- Be able to push and pull 75 pounds;
Be able to push wheelchairs up to 200 pounds - Be able to complete deep knee squats
- Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
- Operate motor vehicles
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard; reach, stoop, kneel to install computer equipment
- Physical activities that could be used include: driving, balancing, pulling, pushing, standing, climbing, grasping, stooping, crouching, crawling, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and repetitive motion
- Requires a Master’s degree in a social service or human service field or actively working to obtain one.
