Overview
The BY YOUR SIDE Occupational Therapist (OT) collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to create and maintain therapy plans addressing sensory processing, attention, executive functioning, fine motor, gross motor, self‑help, ADLs, adaptive play, and leisure skills. The OT works under the oversight of the Manager – Speech and Occupational Therapy, defining goals, collecting data, establishing treatment plans, and communicating with families. They must implement skills obtained during training and adhere to company goals and policies.
This is a full‑time position that may be considered for part‑time arrangements. Hours and days vary based on client/business needs.

- Participate in initial multidisciplinary evaluation to help assess new clients.
- Evaluate, create, and maintain a comprehensive therapy plan for each client.
- Provide individual and group therapy focusing on fine and gross motor, sensory processing, feeding, and social skills.
- Interact with and educate caregivers on in‑home strategies to facilitate skill generalization.
- Use a team‑based, collaborative approach for therapy planning and implementation.
- Maintain current Illinois license, NBCOT certification, and continuing education.
- Adhere to AOTA and ILOTA ethical standards and HIPAA compliance.
- Supervise support personnel (COTAs/OTAs) and interns when necessary.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Provide a minimum of 32 hours of therapy per week.
- Maintain timely documentation of clinical notes for direct patient care.
- Complete documentation for pre‑authorizations, initial evaluations, assessments, insurance reports, and progress reports.
- Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy.
- State‑licensed Occupational Therapist.
- Must complete and maintain CPI training certification (training provided on site).
- CPR/First Aid certified or will train on site.
- Knowledge of discipline‑specific assessment tools and procedures.
- Ability to think critically, solve problems, and deliver therapy independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member.
- Excellent time‑management, multitasking, prioritization, and deliverable quality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
