Director of Finance And Accounting

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Finance & Accounting to lead our finance function and support the continued growth of our manufacturing and distribution operations. This leader will oversee accounting, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and operational financial management while guiding and developing a high-performing team.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, experience working with large retailers, and a hands‑on understanding of the financial drivers within manufacturing and distribution environments.

• Lead and manage the finance and accounting team, including hiring, training, mentorship, and performance management
• Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, month‑end close, and general ledger integrity
• Manage inventory accounting, including costing, variance analysis, and reconciliation processes
• Develop and maintain the company’s annual operating budget, long‑term forecasts, and financial models
• Direct the FP&A function, providing insights, trends, and actionable analysis to senior leadership
• Partner with operations, supply chain, and sales teams to support financial decision‑making
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies
• Develop financial dashboards, KPIs, and operational reporting tools
• Collaborate with major retail customers to support financial requirements, reporting, and program expectations
• Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and relationships with outside accounting firms
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and increased financial efficiency

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• MBA or CPA certification or progress toward CPA (preferred)
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably within manufacturing, distribution, or consumer products
• Hands‑on inventory accounting and cost accounting experience
• Demonstrated success in budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A
• Proven experience in team leadership, staff development, and organizational management
• Experience working with major retailers (e.g., big‑box, national chains)
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to communicate financial insights to non‑financial stakeholders
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems required
