Community Consolidated School District 62 in Des Plaines, Illinois is seeking a Substitute 1:1 Para educator at Algonquin Middle School to cover a leave of absence from approximately February 2 - April 3, 2026.

Position Information:

The Special Education Para educator provides direct support to students with disabilities in various educational settings, ensuring they have the necessary assistance to succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally. Working under the supervision of a certified special education teacher, the paraprofessional assists with classroom instruction, behavioral management, and individualized student needs. This position works directly with one student. This position works directly with one student providing 1:1 support throughout all aspects of the school day.

District 62 has approximately 4,900 students in grades preK-8 in 8 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, 1 early learning center, and 1 year-round, K-8 school.

Compensation Information:

This substitute position is $15 per hour for a 6.5 hour day.

Selection Procedure:

All applications will be reviewed and qualified applicants will be recommended for further interview consideration. After interviews are completed, the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources will make a recommendation to the Board of Education via the Superintendent.
