Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Seeking an experienced Special Education Coordinator to provide leadership and oversight for special education services in a K-12 school setting located in Des Plaines, IL. This contract position requires 32.5 hours per week onsite, beginning ASAP through June 1, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate special education programs across one or more schools serving grades K-12.
  • Lead Section 504 and IEP meetings ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Manage building-level programming including addressing parent concerns and student discipline.
  • Collaborate with staff to support effective delivery of special education services.
  • Evaluate teacher performance and provide professional guidance through Teacher Evaluator responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Illinois Public Educator License with General Administrative Endorsement.
  • Teacher Evaluator Designation required.
  • Undergraduate degree in special education preferred; related fields such as school psychology or social work considered.
  • Proven supervisory or leadership experience in special education programs.
  • Strong knowledge of Section 504 and IEP processes.
  • Experience managing student discipline and parent relations within educational settings.
