Job Description

The superintendent will ensure safety, with OSHA 10 certification required and OSHA 30 certification preferred. The role involves understanding solar, basic civil, and electrical codes, and acting as the eyes and ears on-site, communicating effectively with clients and teams. The superintendent is not expected to perform physical labor but must maintain a high level of communication with clients and internal stakeholders.

This position is part of a dynamic, full-service clean energy developer and EPC, offering exposure to commercial solar, community solar, energy storage, and EV charging projects across the U.S. Experience in a fast-growing construction sector with skills transferable across solar, storage, EV charging, and grid-adjacent work is offered. There is less boom-and-bust risk compared to some traditional construction verticals.

Responsibilities

* Ensure on-site safety compliance with OSHA standards.

* Understand and apply solar, basic civil, and electrical codes.

* Act as the primary on-site representative, communicating with clients and teams.

* Facilitate communication and coordination between clients and internal stakeholders.

Essential Skills

* Minimum 2 years of experience in solar construction with a focus on electrical aspects.

* OSHA 10 certification.

* Proficiency in construction management, solar, and electrical safety.

* Project management experience in construction.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

* OSHA 30 certification preferred.

* Ability to be on-site 5 days a week.

* Local candidates preferred.

Work Environment

The superintendent will work in a 1 megawatt solar field for a client, with Terrasmart as the contractor on-site. The role is a 5/6 month long contract, with an opportunity to transition into a commercial and industrial portfolio if successful. The work environment is part of a dynamic and less volatile construction sector, offering exposure to various clean energy projects.

This is a Contract position based out of Des Plaines, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $49.00/hr.
