You will leverage your construction project management expertise, coordination of multiple trades, and experience in large-scale construction environments to drive successful outcomes across high-impact programs. Building Automation Systems (BAS) experience is highly preferred.
You will report directly to the Program Director and will work remotely, supporting projects based out of Chicago, IL.
Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the primary on-site leader for assigned projects, developing and executing project schedules.
* Review contractual scope and assess impacts of client directives or schedule changes; pursue change orders, develop cost estimates, prepare proposals, and negotiate final pricing.
* Manage project costs, billings, and collections to maintain profitability and positive cash flow.
* Interpret contract terms and conditions and ensure compliance.
* Monitor financial reports and project schedules to proactively address risks and keep projects on time and within budget; communicate status updates to management.
* Identify and manage project risks, implement recovery plans when needed, and resolve issues with minimal escalation.
* Negotiate, prepare, and issue subcontracts.
* Ensure project documentation meets contract requirements and Honeywell standards.
* Oversee construction activities for compliance with specifications, local codes, and proper installation practices.
* Manage procurement, ordering, and delivery schedules for project materials.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors; lead job progress meetings and set clear expectations.
* Coordinate with Installation Managers and Systems Team Leaders to align resources and ensure engineering and commissioning meet established standards; escalate product issues as needed.
* Support Branch Manager and Sales with project development efforts and coordinate customer training requirements.
* Drive business growth, manage change, and enhance customer satisfaction through effective team leadership.
* Mentor and develop operational staff on best practices, project controls, and career growth opportunities.
* Validate staffing plans, subcontracts, schedules, and financial projections.
* Apply knowledge of construction contracts, labor laws, and dispute resolution to minimize risk and advise teams.
* Improve productivity by consistently evaluating and performance-managing operational staff.
* Utilize strong technical problem-solving skills to identify issues and implement solutions across a matrixed organization.
* Travel requirement: 60-80%.
YOU MUST HAVE
* 2+ years of experience managing construction subcontractors at multiple job sites
* 2+ years of experience managing construction project budgets in excess of 500k
* 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Project or other project management software
* 2+ years with specialty building systems experience in networking, BAS, fire, or Security
* Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical field.
* Valid State Driver's License
We Value:
* 5 years of direct project management experience in a construction environment
* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
* Direct experience managing Data Center construction projects, including ground-up or retrofit builds.
* Experience with mission-critical or high-availability facilities.
* Exposure to Building Automation Systems (BAS), controls, or integrated building technologies.
* Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and low-voltage systems.
* Proven leadership, communication, and contractor management skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to support multi-site or remote project portfolios
* Experience and successful track record and a desire to work on a team in a fast paced, growing industry
* Technical ability to understand various building technologies such as BAS Fire and Security Systems
* PMI Certification.
