Responsibilities- Perform vehicle inspections, maintain cleanliness of bus interiors, fuel buses, log trip counts, and assist disabled passengers.
- Be at work every scheduled day, on time, and in uniform.
- Carry a valid state‑issued driver’s license at all times while on duty.
- Maintain an acceptable DMV record.
- Courteously assist customers by answering questions and, if necessary, direct them to the Facility Manager.
- Report any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of company policy, safety hazards, or any unusual occurrence to the Facility Manager.
- Communicate debris, water, oil spills, etc. to the garage office.
- Substitute for cashiers or valets when authorized.
- Have thorough knowledge of all garage areas, major streets, landmarks, and freeways in the vicinity.
- Assist customers with luggage and other traveling items when applicable (e.g., operating shuttle buses at an airport).
- Assist the Facility Manager with other duties as needed.
- Education/
Experience:
Less than high school education or one month of related experience, training, or an equivalent combination. - License:
Must have a valid state driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record. - DOT Medical Card: A Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Medical Card) is required.
- Availability:
May need to work the 3rd shift and/or weekends depending on local hiring needs. - Language
Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; present information to customers and employees. - Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide two‑digit numbers and perform operations with American currency units. - Appearance:
Maintain a neat, clean appearance and be in complete uniform at all times. - Physical Demands:
Ability to stand, walk, use hands for cash handling, sit, climb, balance, and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds.
$17.47 per hour (+ tips). This role is eligible for tips in addition to the posted hourly rate.
