This role will partner with product team members and other engineers in support of the Large Group Sales Experience product team, which is focused on improving and making the experience of doing business Wellmark as seamless, efficient, and accurate as possible by focusing on data extracts, ongoing renewals, and new groups being onboarded.
As a (Senior) Software Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the sales technology platform meets business needs and adheres to technology standards. Your responsibilities will include infrastructure development and automation, environments strategy and management, platform reliability and scalability, CI/CD pipeline management, release management, security and compliance management, system monitoring and incident response, and platform evolution and innovation.
Preferred- Seeking a blend of ETL, Data Warehouse, Database, and Data Integration skills primarily for this role.
- Previous experience with microservices and ETL workflows leveraging AWS CDK, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools, ensuring automated deployments and robust infrastructure for large-scale data processing.
- Previous experience designing and implementing secure, scalable APIs and data pipelines using Node.js, Python, and AWS services (Glue, S3, Redshift), enabling high-performance data exchange and interoperability across healthcare and airline platforms.
- Strong-demonstrated SQL experience
- Experience working within an Agile team environment.
- Experience partnering with global staffing vendors to deliver on commitments
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field of study and at least 1 year of software development experience OR 5+ years of related and applicable experience.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills. Accuracy and high attention to detail. Previous experience troubleshooting and developing creative technical solutions.
- Strong ability to gather information, perform necessary research needed for root cause analysis, problem definition and formulation, recommend solution implementation, verification, and ongoing optimization, using data to support recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships to reach outcomes that gain the support and acceptance of all parties. Ability to communicate key information in a timely manner to the appropriate stakeholder audience with the ability to adjust communication style that will best suit the audience.
- Ability to communicate with and coach/mentor team members, while setting an example in maintaining a positive attitude, staying calm under pressure, being approachable, respectful and taking responsibility when needed.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Excellent organizational skills. Strong time management skills with the ability to set and meet established time frames with little direction, while assuring data and information integrity.
