Position Description
Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Master Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Des Moines, Iowa.

Video/Tech In Charge
- Hourly Pay: $37.65 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus:
Up to $500 each quarter (four times per year) - Sign On Bonus: $2,500 at 30 days and $2,500 at 90 days
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday, weekends off - Hours:
Second Shift 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm

Requirements- 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree (preferred)
- Basic tool requirement
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
- Must have a valid driver’s license and meet Ryder’s driving qualifications
- Must meet minimum Tech II up to Tech IV qualifications plus a minimum of 6 months supervisory or training experience
- Ability to work flexible schedules including shift work, weekends, holidays and on‑call rotations
- Proficiency in SMO, SBT, payroll system, warranty recovery and employee handbook
- Understanding of unit utilization procedures
- Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Must pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, background and motor‑vehicle checks
Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 months in their current position and possess a record of good performance, attendance, safety and teamwork.
Responsibilities- Assist and train technicians, provide customer service, give feedback to the service manager on employee performance
- Oversee parts distribution & inventory, shop reporting, warranty recovery, unit tracking, payroll administration and other duties assigned by the supervisor/manager
