RN Acute-Maternity Internal Resource Pool; Float Pool

Overview

UnityPoint Health – Des Moines is seeking Registered Nurses for full-time or part-time night shifts (7pm-7am), weekend package nights, and part-time days in acute inpatient roles. This role includes a limited-time sign-on bonus and relocation assistance as outlined below.

• Sign-on bonus: $20,000 for eligible full-time RNs hired or offered into acute inpatient roles between April 1 and July 31, 2026, paid in milestone-based installments.
• Relocation Assistance:
  Up to $10,000 for full-time offers when relocating more than 50 miles.

• Provide and coordinate nursing care to patients using the nursing process.
• Complete documentation to ensure an accurate record of patient care.
• Utilize critical thinking in independent judgment and maintain knowledge of patients’ conditions.
• Collaborate with physicians and other professionals to plan and implement care within hospital policy and legal parameters.
• Assess patient and family needs, provide teaching to facilitate discharge planning, and refer to community resources for continuity of care.
• Engage in professional development by staying current with nursing practice and healthcare trends.

• Education:
  
  Graduate of an accredited nursing program or IA Board of Nursing approved program.
• License/Certification:
  Current licensed RN in good standing to practice in Iowa.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum of six months acute RN experience. New graduates or RNs with less than six months of acute experience are encouraged and may participate in the RN Residency program. For more information, visit the RN Residency program page.
